KEY PERSONNEL

            Craig Knight, President

Craig Knight is President of Knight Construction Group, Inc. and has been an active general contractor in Utah and the Western United States since 1968. Craig has extensive experience in Project and Contract Management for commercial, residential, and industrial construction. He has been involved in projects ranging from small tenant remodels…. to restaurants and office buildings… to large commercial contracts of over $10 million dollars. Craig also has significant experience with petroleum installations, having completed more than 128 gasoline installations.

Noted for his expertise in training and implementing complex scheduling systems to manage construction projects, Craig custom-tailored the Knight Fast Trac building method and scheduling system, and trains all field project superintendents and managers in its use. This teamwork approach to each construction project improves communications and project control, enhancing profits for all parties.

Craig founded Knight Construction Group, Inc. to focus on commercial construction, partnering with a select clientele to produce qualitative results. He leads Knight Construction Group, Inc. with the premise that we are a general contracting firm who will embrace a client’s dream, take it to reality and treat it as if it were our own.

    Scott Ferguson, Vice President of Construction

Scott Ferguson is a principal and Vice President of Construction for Knight Construction Group, Inc. and has been with the firm since its inception. He is directly responsible for the Project Superintendents of the company and serves as Chief Estimator, overseeing the bid process.

Scott has been active in the construction industry since 1972, and in supervisory positions since 1986. He has extensive experience in all phases of residential and commercial construction, with average project size under supervision ranging from $250,000 to $5,000,000.

Scott was educated at Dixie College in St. George, Utah. He has completed the Knight Safety Course and teaches an ongoing safety course for construction personnel in the subsidiary companies. Scott's areas of expertise include construction management and accelerated scheduling.  He has heavy experience in gasoline installations, restaurant and retail building construction.

          Donna Knight, Vice President

Donna Knight is Vice President of Knight Construction Group, Inc. She handles public relations, marketing, construction financing and administration for all Knight Construction Group entities. Donna serves as General Manager for the company's residential division, Knight Custom Homes, averaging over 50 housing starts per year in Utah, Salt Lake, Weber and Davis counties.

Donna's educational background includes Brigham Young University and the University of Utah, with a degree in Communications. When she joined the Knight Construction Group in 1993, she brought extensive work experience in financial analysis, technical writing, and business administration.

Donna has authored several workbooks, operational handbooks and training manuals for the construction and other industries. She is a member of NAHB and the HBA of Greater Salt Lake.

         Jim Kourbelas, Project Superintendent

Jim Kourbelas has been in construction since 1971, and with the Knight Construction Group since it began. His areas of expertise include owner/contractor rapport, scheduling, and quality control.   Jim’s management experience includes large office and warehouse projects, local stores for national accounts (Payless Drug, Goodyear Tire, Denny's Restaurant), motels (Marriott Fairfield, Canyonlands Moab), large multi-unit apartment/condominium buildings, post office construction and petroleum installations.

 

 

      Monty Merrill, Project Superintendent

Monty Merrill has over 28 years of experience in the construction industry and has been in a Superintendent capacity since 1992.  He worked for Knight Companies from 1996 through 1997, and rejoined Knight Construction Group, Inc. in 1999.

Monty’s project management experience includes large multi-unit facilities, concrete tilt-up business park buildings, and a 3-story office building featuring an under-building sub-station for the Utah Transit Authority TRAX project. He has specific expertise in wood frame structures, steel and structural concrete buildings, convenience store construction and gasoline installations.

 

 

 

             Steve Allred, Project Superintendent

Steve Allred, a second-generation carpenter, has been actively involved in construction since 1986, and with Knight Construction Group, Inc. since its inception.  Steve is a quality-oriented, excellent finish carpenter, and understands an owner’s need to bring buildings to completion on schedule.

He has specific experience in project including Pizza Hut restaurants, 7-Eleven convenience stores, retail centers, Phillips 66 Gasoline Stations, KICKS convenience stores, office buildings, historic building renovation, Arby’s Restaurants, and more.

 

            Clayton Kourbelas, Project Superintendent

Clayton began working for Knight Construction in 1990.  He has been in construction since 1977, with specific expertise in scheduling and fast track building.  Clay has solid experience in all phases of commercial construction. He has a proven ability to complete projects on time and under budget. Clay is highly skilled in scheduling, finish construction and value engineering.

Typical projects range up to $1 million dollars.  Projects that Clay supervises include the County Courthouse and Jail Facility in Moab, Utah, Restaurants, Discount Tire Stores, and Smiths Conoco Fueling Stations.

 

            Project Superintendent

Typical projects range up to $5 million dollars, with heavy experience in structural steel, metal and wood framing systems. His project list includes Smith’s Food & Drug Stores, Conoco Fueling Stations, and Pizza Hut Restaurants.

Amy Beth Dalley keeps subcontractors and suppliers paid promptly and accurately, monitors job costing, and personnel records and programs. Amy acts as our 'Compliance Officer,' ensuring that all subcontractors and suppliers are properly licensed and insured.
